Salt Lake City, UT — July 24, 2026
GCP Energy LLC is pleased to announce a strategic representative partnership with LS Electric Co., Ltd. (Korea), one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-voltage power equipment. Under this agreement, GCP Energy will serve as LS Electric's Strategic Accounts Representative for North America, covering the company's full product portfolio across the utility, EPC, and data center markets.
Founded in 1974 and operating across 107 countries, LS Electric is a $3.4B USD revenue company with over 4,400 employees and a manufacturing footprint spanning South Korea, the United States, Vietnam, Indonesia, Türkiye, and China. A member of the LS Group — one of Korea's largest industrial conglomerates — LS Electric is recognized as a pioneer in electric power systems, automation, and green energy technology.
LS Electric's US presence includes five domestic locations, anchored by their Bastrop, TX campus — a 24/7 integrated manufacturing, warehousing, and field service facility that provides local technical support, commissioning supervision, and warranty service to North American customers.
Through this partnership, GCP Energy clients now have direct access to LS Electric's complete North American product offering, including:
Power Transformers — From 33 kV distribution transformers through 550 kV / 600 MVA EHV transmission units, manufactured at LS Electric's dedicated Busan and Ulsan plants in South Korea. Combined annual production capacity exceeds 44,000 MVA. All units are designed, tested, and certified to ANSI/IEEE C57 series standards.
High Voltage Dead Tank Breakers (DTB) — LS Electric's Beyond™ platform introduces 362 kV and 245 kV dead tank breakers to the North American market, type-tested to IEEE C37.04 / C37.09 via KERI — a globally accredited STL member laboratory. With 63 kA interrupting capacity, up to 5,000A continuous current ratings, and an annual production capacity of 500 units, the Beyond™ DTB line represents a compelling new alternative in the transmission-class switchgear market.
Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) — Built on more than four decades of GIS manufacturing experience dating to 1980, LS Electric's GIS platform serves utility and industrial substation applications across a broad voltage range.
LS Electric brings a track record of supply to some of North America's most demanding customers — including NV Energy, MidAmerican Energy, NextEra Energy, SMUD, PSEG, SRP, Avangrid, and SDG&E — alongside a growing presence in the renewable energy and hyperscale data center sectors.
Their Power Testing & Technology Institute (PT&T) ranks as the 6th largest short-circuit testing facility in the world, with 4,000 MVA of short-circuit test capacity and full accreditation under UL, DEKRA, Intertek, KERI, CESI, and STL frameworks. With 3.1% of total sales reinvested in R&D annually, LS Electric continues to push the frontier of high-voltage equipment design, including AR-assisted quality verification and 3D electromagnetic modeling for every transformer produced.
"The North American power infrastructure market is undergoing a generational expansion driven by grid modernization, renewable interconnects, and the explosive growth of AI and data center demand. Our clients need OEM partners who can deliver at transmission class — on time, to IEEE standards, with US-based support. LS Electric checks every one of those boxes, and we are proud to bring their full product line to the strategic accounts we serve across the utility, EPC, and data center space."

PowerBloc Co. is a GCP Energy venture focused on the development and delivery of complete, turnkey power generation blocks — generation to meter — in under 20 months.
Built on GCP Energy's exclusive North American OEM supply chain, PowerBloc deploys the Flame2Fusion™ platform across the full generation spectrum: natural gas, combined cycle, solar, wind, long-duration storage, hydrogen-ready generation, hydropower, and advanced nuclear.
While major OEMs carry backlogs extending to 2030, PowerBloc delivers now — compressing timelines that take competitors 36–48 months by leveraging factory-direct procurement, priority allocation, and engineering-led project delivery across GCP's existing OEM partner network.
Three revenue streams: power block development, OEM supply chain margin, and long-term services and maintenance agreements.
PowerBloc Co. is currently forming as a Delaware C-Corp and accepting founding capital partners ahead of its January 2026 Salt Lake City launch.
